It would be a nice resource.

Most of the pictures I've seen are just what I've found via Google image search. I'm leaning more towards recreating Utah than Omaha, since Omaha had a lot more height inland and I don't have that on my table.

The maps I'm referencing are from http://www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk/dday.htm. They're nothing essential, but pretty interesting, as you can probably tell from the sample. It includes the mapping of the German defenses.

> It would be fun to have two games going on at the same time on the same board - beach landing and a little further inland a para/glider drop. The goal being to have some of the beach landers get to the paras.

What a great idea! I hadn't considered that, but it is a natural for me! I also have a lot of Airborne, and the way the 8x5 table is set up right now, you can probably see I'm not using 2-3 feet of the length. With a little imagination, that road off the beach could be the road straight from Utah beach to Ste-Mere-Elise...

Maybe not exactly that with FoW, anyway, but when I start looking at some higher scale rules, definitely!!
Andyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03188043128640438712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1883467308980359725.post-33279088527897462632012-09-17T17:10:12.276-04:002012-09-17T17:10:12.276-04:00You've probably already seen this site but it ...You've probably already seen this site but it has some good modern photos. www.dday04.com

Can you link to the overhead photos you're referencing?
