Lincoln

I bet this movie will be very good! Daniel Day Lewis is an amazing actor, and I'm sorry to see somebody as distinctive as Tommy Lee Jones or even Hal Holbrook in it as well to pull me out of my suspension of disbelief. I will no doubt be hauling Son and Daughter Number Ones to the theater to watch this with me!

  1. Wow, that looks great, but even more interesting is that years ago I had an erotic dream that had both Sally Field AND Abraham Lincoln in it, and now she's in a film...about Abraham Lincoln. That blows my mind.

  2. A movie with some substance! Looks like I'll see it. Hopefully they don't distort history too much in search of the story to tell.

    1. As a Southerner, as long as it reminds my neighbors that it wasn't about "states rights.". I quit playing ACW locally due to the apparent ignorance and enthusiastic support of the Confederacy!

    2. I always have high hopes when I see Daniel Day Lewis is in a film. I may not like the film, but none of them have been bad films.

  3. Andd I would not worry about Hal Holbrook, he can disappear into a character as well. He was in a movie as Lincoln once a long time ago! And as Mark Twain, well, you'd just not believe it was anyone else.

TLJ is another matter, his face is iconic, but the man can act. Watch 'No Country for Old Men' to see what I mean. Very low key, nothing like say 'Blown Away' from the '90's.
